I heard something the other day that stopped me in my tracks: if you spend all your time worrying about the bees, you’re never going to taste the honey.
I don’t know who said it first, but I know it’s true.
We do this to ourselves constantly. God finally opens the door we’ve been praying for, and instead of walking through it and enjoying what’s on the other side, we’re standing there swatting at every “what if.” What if it doesn’t last. What if it gets hard. What if I lose it.
Here’s the thing, friend — some stinging is just part of having something sweet. A few bees buzzing around doesn’t mean the honey isn’t good. It usually means you’re close to it.
“This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” — Psalm 118:24
God didn’t bring you to this season so you could stand at the edge of it worried sick. He brought you here so you could taste it. Enjoy it. Let it be good without picking it apart looking for the catch.
So today, put the worry down — just for a few minutes. Taste the honey. It’s yours, and it’s sweeter than the fear is telling you it is.
A little journal prompt for you
Finish this one honestly: “The honey I’ve been too busy worrying about the bees to taste is … and today I’m choosing to enjoy it because …”
A little affirmation to carry with you: I am allowed to enjoy the good things God has given me without waiting for the worry to run out first.
With so much love,
Momma J 🤍
