Personal Development

A space to help you grow in self-love, master your mindset, and manifest the life you deserve through daily motivation and positive habits.

Good morning, friend. Yesterday I was standing at my kitchen sink, hands in dishwater, watching the sun come up over the fence line, and out of nowhere I got teary. Nothing dramatic had happened. No big answered prayer, no exciting news. Just ordinary dishes, ordinary sunlight, five kids somewhere in the house making ordinary noise. And I thought, I could miss this. I could rush right past this and miss it. That’s what today’s word is about — not chasing the next thing God is going to do, but actually noticing the thing He’s already done.

“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:18

I used to think gratitude was something you felt after life got good. Now I think it’s something you practice so that you can actually see the good that’s already there, hiding in plain sight under the laundry pile and the grocery list. It’s not pretending everything is fine. It’s choosing to look for the fingerprints of God on an ordinary Saturday instead of only searching for them in the miracles.

Some days that’s easy — the sun on your face, a text from your kid that says “love you mom” out of nowhere, coffee that’s still hot when you finally sit down. Other days you have to dig a little. But I’ve never once dug for gratitude and come up completely empty-handed. There’s always something. A roof. A breath. A God who hasn’t moved even when everything else has.

Lately I’ve been keeping a little dish by my bed — the kind you toss your rings and earrings into at night — and I’ve started slipping a small item into it each evening that reminds me of one good thing from the day. It sounds silly, but having something to hold has made the habit stick in a way that journaling alone never did for me. If you’re a “hold something in your hand” kind of person too, I’ve been loving my Mustard Seed Faith Pendant Necklace for this exact reason — it’s a real mustard seed sealed behind glass, a little reminder tucked right at my collarbone that even small, quiet faith is still faith, and small, quiet gratitude still counts as praise.

A Little Journal Prompt for You

Grab a notebook, a napkin, whatever’s nearby, and finish this sentence three times: “I almost missed this today, but I’m glad I noticed…” Don’t overthink it. Let the small stuff count — it usually is the big stuff, just wearing plain clothes.

Today’s affirmation: I am the kind of woman who notices her blessings instead of rushing past them.

So today, wherever you are — folding laundry, sitting in traffic, waiting on that thing you’ve been praying about — I hope you catch at least one moment that makes you go still for a second. Thank God for it right there on the spot. That’s a whole prayer. That’s enough.

Sending you so much love today. If you want a little something tangible to help you hold onto this practice, I’d love for you to come browse my Shop My Cozy Cottage Collection — every piece is handmade with the same heart behind this blog.
